Happy Saturday Everyone!
Here as promised is the new story for you based on night! Enjoy!
In the dark of night I lurk and in the shadows I strike. I am a hunter, but not of men. I hunt those who hurt men. Some people think that I am the monster, but I am not, I am the Shadow Hawk. I tread through the streets of Rome looking for murders, killers trying to strike humans. I have this uncanny ability to hide in the shadows, but then again I was blessed with the ability to shape shift.
She stood under the stop sign. She was dressed all in black, wearing a black tunic and leggings. She also had a cloak draped over her shoulders it was out of the time period but it made her more of a legend. Her black hair was pulled up in a high ponytail. Her features were covered by a black mask tied across her face. All that could be seen was her dark brown eyes. She was waiting. While she waited she watched people walk back and forth across the busy street. People of all different shapes and sizes. People all heading different directions. People all having them all different lives. Everyone of them having a different story to tell.
But she didn't care about that right now she was only after one man in particular and that man was in his traditional trench coat that was a desert sand shade and two sizes to big for his frame. He also had on dress shoes that had recently just been shined, he had his typical brown hair covered by his a large bowler hat. This man walked with a very hurried pace. He was on a mission he did not want to be on. As he made his way down the street little did he know that he was being followed. He made his way quickly, but not to fast as to draw attention, just fast enough for people to know to get out of his way.
Block after block she followed him. He was easy to trace, but then again he wasn't your average murder. He was only after revenge, but she knew all to well that revenge would ruin him, she knew of revenge all to well she had seen enough of it to last a life time. She also knew how messy the inexperienced could make it that she did not want to see this man learn what revenge would cost him.
As she trailed him she remembered earlier in the night when she had first learned that he was on the prowl. She was at a club just outside the down town area of Rome.
"Arnie who is he?" asked Shadow Hawk.
"He's your eveyday business man, who was wronged by this international business and now he is out to kill the boss. He just had to get a few more drinks down his throat before he had guts enough to do it," stated Arnie in hushed tones as he was whipping off the bar.
"You didn't keep giving him the drinks did you?" asked Shadow Hawk
"Of course not after the second shot of Vodka I switched it out for water," replied Arnie nonchalantly.
"Thank goodness, at least you have a brain Arnie, did you hear where he was going?"
"Yeah something about a hotel on second street."
"That's not far from here."
"You got that right."
"Thanks Arnie." Just as quickly as she had appeared in the club she left She knew her way around this part of town like the back of her hand. It would be an easy catch to find where this man was going and just the route and inexperienced killer would take.
Now he turned the corner on second street. He walked about thirty paces down the street and then he stopped. He looked up. From the trajectory of his eyes Shadow Hawk could tell that he was looking at the window where his ex-boss had slept, and she could see in his eyes the revenge. Within minutes the man was on the fire escape, climbing his way to the window, that one window where revenge would ease the pain he felt, or so he thought. Shadow Hawk knew well enough that easing that would take more than revenge.
Shadow Hawk was a few seconds behind him she crawled through the window. The man held the dagger directly above the sleeping mans heart. She could not let him die, he looked so peaceful sitting there. She moved around in the shadows silently and when the man went to drive the dagger into the sleeping man's heart, she caught his hand in hers. The tip of the blade was only inches from the sleeping man's skin. The killer looked at her in horror, he was afraid what she would do. Then She whispered in his ear, "I am not here to hurt only to protect. Fear not, the man who lies upon this bed will decide your fate not I." She removed the dagger from his grip and pulled his arms behind his back. She led him to a small chair in the corner and tied him to it. On the desk she saw notebook paper and a pen, she grabbed it and wrote a note to the sleeping man about what had happened. She placed the dagger next to it and fled out of the window into the darkness.
The sleeping man awoke. He saw her leave through the window. He had been following her for years and she was just here, and he had missed her. He grabbed the note, but he need not read it. He untied the man who was tied in the chair and paid him. He was going to find her. His heart needed him to find her. For she did not know it, but they were once lovers.
Hope you enjoyed. I may add more to this story, but the legend of Shadow Hawk covers her mystery and leaves you a perfect ending to add more if need be. I hope you all found good ideas that go along with night. Be sure to comment below if you want me to read them or if you have feed back. Thanks for reading.
